One of Honma’s new golf ball models is the three-piece TW-X, which sits between the entry-level A1 and higher-end X4 on a price-per-dozen basis but comes in at a very competitive £26 per dozen, the same as the TW-S ball.

Honma TW-X golf balls are designed for golfers who swing their driver over 90 mph and go for ample distance with a penetrating trajectory and firmer feel than TW-S golf balls. For this price, is it among the best golf balls you can find? That’s what we wanted to know.

Even when playing in windy conditions, it produced a strong and stable flight. In the long game, it also produced good distance due to the way the first and second layers – a combination core and a high repulsion ionomer – work together.
