Two European Tour competitions have been deferred in light of the flare-up of the coronavirus.
The Maybank Championship in Malaysia – planned for 16-19 April at Saujana Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur – and the next week’s Volvo China Open, which was expected to be held at Genzon Golf Club in Shenzhen, has been canceled.
The two occasions could be rescheduled for later in the year, although elective dates presently can’t seem to be reported.
“The prosperity of our players, onlookers, and staff is forever our supreme need,” European Tour CEO Keith Pelley said. “While it is thusly unfortunate that the Maybank Championship and Volvo China Open have been deferred, we feel this is the right strategy at this time. We are as of now examining elective dates for the two occasions.”
