Titleist Vokey SM7 Wedge Review.

The Vokey SM7 is one of the best wedges on the market right now. This is the first time we’re reviewing it. In our review, we found the SM7 to be a very consistent wedge, as it’s only a swing weight adjustment.

The SM7 is made of a very soft, durable, and flexible graphite composite material. The shape of the sole is designed to match the shape of the ball. This ensures that the sole is the right size and shape to help the wedge get the most out of the ball’s shape.

This wedge is designed to work for most golfers, but it’s not for all golfers. The SM7 is very forgiving and is designed for golfers who are used to being able to work with their wedges.

Let’s find out more about the Titleist Vokey SM7 Wedge below.

The critical technology

The Titleist Vokey SM6 wedges have been refined to enhance the center of gravity concept introduced in the previous wedges. As you move from irons to wedges, the lower lofted wedges would be more like your irons in terms of feeling, so there shouldn’t be a big jump in feel. In addition, changes in the manufacturing process have allowed engineers to get even closer to the spin tolerances allowed by golf rules. With the new Titleist Vokey SM7 wedge range, the faces have been heat-treated in order to help preserve spin for longer. New grind options have also been added.

Titleist Vokey SM7 Wedge: Testing Methods

To see what the differences in performance and feel of the Titleist Vokey SM7 wedge were, we went through a wedge fitting, hitting shots with the previous generation product, then switching to the SM7 wedge. After hitting full-pitch shots, we tested a variety of short-game shots, including bunker shots, where we tested the performance of different grinds and bounces. Lastly, we tested the spin profile of the new Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges using a GC Quad launch monitor.

Titleist Vokey SM7 Wedge: Design

The SM7 range only adds to Bob Vokey’s reputation as a master craftsman. While the Tour Chrome version of this wedge is likely to be the most popular, the Brushed Steel and Black versions are also stunning. The black version is wonderful-the details are all tone-on-tone, creating a subtle, almost “mean” look. It’s great. Having said that, I found the black version a little bit too compact behind the ball, so I reverted to the tried and trusted Tour Chrome version.

Titleist Vokey SM7 Wedge: Performance

As you would expect, the feel on offer is superb. You’ll also notice how well the spin control works. There is no doubt that the new grooves have a huge impact on this, but for all shots inside 100 yards, especially delicate chips, the feel and spin control can have a significant impact on your scoring potential. Try the Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges for yourself and you’ll understand what we mean.

Titleist Vokey SM7 Wedge: Fitting

If you are considering the Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges, we strongly recommend a proper fitting. Our team noticed that the different grinds made a big difference in how well the wedges performed. Initially, we were skeptical about how a different sole configuration affects performance, but when you test the designs against one another, the differences are quite pronounced.

Titleist’s SM7 wedge might be helpful for players with wedge game issues, particularly with getting the club caught in the turf during impact. A specific technique is necessary to match up the right lofts with the right bounce and grind for you. If you are thinking of investing in these clubs, it makes sense to do it properly since you probably use them more than any other. You will see the difference.
