Under Armour Spieth 3 Golf Shoe Review
- easy to maintain.
With more and more golfers looking to put their best foot forward, it is essential that a golf shoe is comfortable and supportive enough to allow the golfer to perform to their best ability.
Under Armour is no stranger to the golfing world. They have been around for some time now and have plenty of products on the market.
The Spieth 3 is their latest offering and has been designed with a range of golfers in mind.
This review will focus on the performance of this shoe and how it compares to other similar products.
Under Armour Spieth 3 Golf Shoe: Design
- Modern look
- Available in different colors,
- Easy to use.
The new Spieth 3 is unmistakably an Under Armour Spieth golf shoe. These shoes retain the modern look of the earlier Spieth shoes with their combination of woven fabric and Clarino microfiber leather.
Although the uppers are busy with varied materials and stitching, a simple gray stripe prevents the shoe from being visually overwhelming. The UA Spieth 3 is also available in black and looks great.
The Spieth 3’s clear sole material reveals the structure of the shoe. Having seen the sole, I don’t know whether it belongs in a modern art gallery or a NASA exhibit.
Under Armour Spieth 3 golf shoe: Comfort
- easy to maintain.
- excellent lacing system.
- Fits well.
It was easy to put on the UA Spieth 3 thanks to its long tongue and easily expandable lacing. To keep air flowing, the underside of the tongue has wide channels in the cushioning–a detail I’ve never seen before. Its lacing system is easy to adjust. The tongue does not extend all the way down the lacing.
Both of my feet felt the raised footbed on the outside of the shoe. I felt like I was staying centered during my backswing and posting on my left side during my follow-through. It has a firm footbed, but it is comfortable. I like the soft, silky material inside the shoe. Padding surrounds the ankle collar, which cradles it and secures the heel.
As a shoe that is both structured and supportive, the UA Spieth 3 provides excellent comfort. As a 9.5 size, the shoes seem a bit long, and I’d recommend going down half a size if you’re usually between sizes.
Under Armour Spieth 3 Golf Shoe: Performance
As I watch Jordan warm-up on the range, I can’t help but notice that he has a lot of foot movement. It’s fascinating to watch how his shoes pivot and roll with his swing. Like its predecessor, the UA Spieth 2, which I tested last year, the Spieth 3 is wide and stable. The cleats are located at the edge of the soles, which are wider than the shoe body.
The red Rotational Resistance spikes have a lower profile, as does the outsole, which provides a more grounded feel. With the traditional Softspikes and ample molded points and nubs, the traction is unparalleled. All traction elements in the golf swing harness and then transfer power when necessary.
The UA Spieth 3 upper and sole are designed to work together for stability. Despite a steady flow of rain, my feet remained dry, even with simulated light rain. Although Gore-Tex is gone, UA integrated its Storm Technology to make the shoes waterproof for two years.
Over an ounce of weight was saved with the UA Spieth 3, which your body will appreciate after a long round of golf. As a result of the collaboration between Under Armour and Jordan Spieth, the look and performance have been improved. This shoe is right in line with premium offerings from other brands and is clearly deserving of another major championship.
